"As I complete one year with Newshound India Foundation, I look back with utmost gratitude and pride. Gratitude because it is this organization that gave me the much-needed headstart for my career in journalism and pride because I was considered worthy enough to be selected as a Newshound. Newshound India Foundation taught me the ins and outs of the world of journalism and gave me hands-on experience, an imperative if one wants to step into this field. I look forward to the future endeavors as a Newshound."

"It was in my second year of college that I began my journey with Newshound India Foundation and there's not been a greater source of experience, opportunity, and knowledge combined that I've had the chance to use as a student. The sheer amount of patience and willingness that I have received from the team has made learning a wholesome process. At the same time, it put me out of my comfort zone many a time but rewarded me with credits for some of the best work that I've participated in. The content created by the Foundation is the epitome of quality, objectivity, novelty, and reliability. It's taught me what even educational institutions fail to teach, practical application of skills. I have had nothing but a positive experience with Newshound India Foundation, a family I am proud to be a part of. I wish for the team to grow and meet students that share my mindset of wanting to excel professionally and personally, all while actually making a difference in the society."
Aditi Saxena Student Journalist, Indian Academy Degree College, Bengaluru
"I'm proud to say that I am the first NEWSHOUND and I was taught in this training program that as a student I've been locked in a cage where everything looks easy and achievable from the inside and when I graduate there's an entire jungle waiting to hunt me down when I'm let free from the cage. This lesson made me realize the practical challenges I'll be facing after I graduate and helped me equip myself with a lot of skills that are required to thrive in the corporate world. During the pandemic, when a lot of people lost their job the lesson that I learned made me get a job as a PR and media executive as soon as I graduated. There is no better place than NEWSHOUND INDIA FOUNDATION where a student will get exposed to industry-level work while still being a student."
Akshay VR Class of 2020, CMS, Jain University, Bengaluru
"Working for Newshound was the beginning of my professional life. Newshound feels like home. It has taught me so much. Arjun sir has taught me so much. From covering the Boi's Locker Room story to daily news updates and much more, it has added value to both my life and CV. I will be forever grateful for the journey till now and the future as well. The amount of love and appreciation I have received at Newshound is beyond precious to me. My first ever earning of life was at Newshound. It will always be close to my heart. I never thought that I could write anything other than abstract pieces, but here I was encouraged to take up a wide range of topics which helped me take other opportunities in life. Thankyou NEWSHOUND FAMILY for everything!"
Khyati Kataria Student journalist, CSMC, Chitkara University, Punjab
"As I was nearing completion of my journalism course, the pandemic really altered things. While graduating into a world of unemployment and uncertainty, I was glad to have found Newshound India Foundation. Through its Alumni programme offered for the Class of 2020, I was able to sharpen the skills I learnt through the years. Newshound India Foundation has provided a much-needed platform for me, and many students alike, to pursue writing the news. It may sound like an easy task, but through constant practice received through this programme, I have been shaped and moulded by professionals who have always pushed me to do the best. Being a Newshound, I have always had journalistic freedom to chase the story I want. The organisation, through its innovative functioning, is surely the best launch pad any journalism student could ask for."
Ronnan Da Cunha Class of 2020 (Alumni Programme), St. Xavier? College, Goa
"I joined this institution at a time when people were being fired from all institutions. Reporting opportunities for students were also snatched during the nationwide lockdown. At that time, Newshound India Foundation gave paid opportunities to the students. Working with this institution was a great benefit. The first is that this gave me an opportunity to understand the issues deeply, and secondly, the fact that every student has the freedom to work according to his or her own convenience. Everyone can make videos or write on issues that mainstream media abstains from discussing. And the biggest thing is that you will also be given an allowance for all the hardwork you put in. This is a great opportunity, especially for those students who want to make their place in journalism."
Shivangi Saxena Class of 2020 (Alumni Programme), IP University, New Delhi
"As the pandemic made it clear that it wouldn't go away in two weeks or two months for that matter, it became clearer to us that our college would not be able to place us. The news media industry was in shambles in the first couple of months of the pandemic. Forget hiring, organisations -- even the most famous ones such as The Hindu -- were retrenching their workforce by the dozens, bureaus were closing down and hiring seemed like a fever dream. It was at this point that the Newshound India Foundation approached me with its 'Class of 2020' programme. The programme not only allowed me to hone the reporting skills that I had learnt at college but also improved two significant skills expected of a written news journalist: copy editing and update writing. While both of them seem basic, it is important to note that writing a good dispatch takes practice and more than a little guidance. Being a Newshound gave me both along with near-limitless editorial freedom and let me build a network of sources who have given stories I can be proud of."

"In today's media world where most of the news has become a mere commodity curated only with the object of raking in maximum TRPs, Newshound India Foundation has been providing a platform for our students to train and hone their skills in areas of their choosing. The Foundation's Student Journalism Programme, along with the institution's academic training will go a long way in proving to be a voice for the voiceless. Our best wishes to our alumnus, Arjun Samar Mahendran, for building a unique ecosystem like this. All the very best to him and his team."
Dr. Bhargavi D Hemmige Associate Professor and Head, Department of Media Studies, CMS, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru
The initiative of Newshound India Foundation to provide hands-on training to media students while they are still pursuing their formal education is unique. This will help students to enrich their portfolios on one hand and on the other hand they are also getting paid for their work. Arjun Samar has motivated the media students of our Institute to come up with a story idea, give it a shape and see it being displayed on Newshound platform as a story of Student Reporter, the concept itself is very unique. My best wishes to this alternative media platform- Newshound for all the future endeavours and hope it continues doing meaningful journalism.
~ Prof. (Dr.) Bindu Sharma Director, Institute of Mass Communication & Media Technology, Kurukshetra University
Through our School of Mass Communication, we recently contacted Newshound India Foundation, and thereafter, Mr. Arjun conducted an intensive session with our students and our many students subsequently joined his non-profit Student Journalist initiative. Some students' contribution is already with the platform and many are lined up to join with their unique 'beat' which I am sure will be delivered by my students very well. All the best Newshound India Foundation - Audience needs this initiative and it is the apt time.
