Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Australian duo Glenn Maxwell and Dan Christian were subjected to online abuse after the Virat Kohli-led RCB lost by four wickets to EoinMorgan’sorgan’s KKR at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday (October 11).
National media picked up the story after Maxwell tweeted, “Great season by RCB, unfortunately, we fell well short of where we thought we should be. Doesn’t take away from an amazing season!! Some of the garbage that has been flowing on social media is absolutely disgusting! We are human beings who are giving our best each and every day. Try being a decent person maybe instead of spreading abuse”.
The Australian cricketer also thanked his fans for supporting him. “Thank you to the REAL fans that shared love and appreciation for the players giving their all”, he said.

The trolling and abuse did not stop here. RCB player Dan Christian pointed out that his pregnant partner received online hate and threats due to the Australian sportsperson’s performance. “Check out the comment section of my partner’s Instagram post. I didn’t have a great game tonight, but that’s sport. However please leave her out of it.” Dan Christian posted on Instagram.
